UNITY AT THE LAKE                           November 21, 2025

NOVEMBER 23, 2025: Dr. Kristin Cherry will be our guest speaker this Sunday with a lesson entitled “Insights from the Appalachian Trail: Faith.” Using examples from her recent experience hiking the Appalachian Trail, Rev. Dr. Kristin reveals how a hiker's faith and divine connection relate to the everyday challenges of life. The message encourages the daily affirmation of our spiritual goals, trusting Divine Mind to provide for every step.

Dr. Kristin’s life is a testament to the power of action. From Chicago's Urban Life Center to the state capital, she has dedicated herself to social justice. A 17-year tenured professor of communication at Central Methodist University, she blends academic expertise with real-world impact, volunteering in prisons, shelters, and urban centers. In June 2025, she was ordained as a Unity minister and animal chaplain. Join us Sunday to hear her powerful message!

NEW HANDICAP AND RESERVED PARKING SIGNS:  The board has installed several new “Handicap” and “Reserved” parking signs along the very front row of the church. The handicap spots are meant for those who have state handicap tags, while the reserved spots can be used by those who walk with a cane and may be unable to negotiate the gravel parking lot even though they don’t have a state handicap tag. Hope this helps!

CHAIR YOGA THIS SATURDAY:  Join Cathy Babin this Saturday at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. The cost is $7. Yoga helps increase flexibility, boost strength, and improve concentration. Come reap the benefits!

THANKSGIVING DINNER:  Dale and Linda Froling’s son and daughter-in-law will be generously hosting a Thanksgiving dinner at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day in our fellowship area. If you don’t have plans with friends or family, they would love to have you! Please contact Linda Froling if you have any questions.

IT’S ALMOST TIME TO DECK THE HALLS:  Gary Freeland is heading up the committee which will decorate our church for Christmas. The committee is planning a decorating party this coming Tuesday, November 25, at noon. Please join the fun if you can!

BUILD A MORE FULFILLING LIFE IN 2026:  Unity World Headquarters is challenging us to prepare for a year of transformation by inviting each of us to select a Word of Intention to be held in loving prayer in the Silent Unity Chapel through December 2026. We can choose our own personal word for the year and send it to Unity by using the form that we will have on the table outside the sanctuary so it can be held in prayer throughout the year. We will have someone mail in all the forms before the new year. So, be still and open yourself to receiving your guiding word. Don’t think, just choose the first word that pops into your head!
